Digital Video Basics

Course Aims:
This course will teach you how to use a range of video recording and editing equipment. You will be shown the production process involved in creating video programming and gain the technical and creative skills necessary for the production of programmes.

 

 

Course Objectives:
On completion of the course participants will:

Understand and be able to use a range of digital video recording and editing equipment.

Understand the production process involved in creating video programming.

Gain the technical and creative skills necessary for the digital production of programmes.

Know how to script and produce a video.

Produce a portfolio in DVD format.

 

Course Structure:
The course is offered on a part-time basis, with classes scheduled 3 hours per week for 10 weeks commencing in early October. Students will be expected to produce a portfolio of work on an ongoing basis throughout the duration of the course as part of the assessment procedure.

 

 

Entry Requirements:
There are no formal entry requirements, however, students should possess a thorough knowledge of basic computer skills e.g. be familiar with the Windows environment.
